And we have a heartbeat...again

My heartbeat doppler came today so I tried to see if I could find it and was having some difficulty. I could find the placenta but not the heartbeat. I gave it a break and tried again and found it. It's actually higher up than where it should be at this point. But I found it beating away and recorded it! I played it over the computer for Sal at work. We're going to try to find it again tonight. I love that sound. If I can figure out how to upload it I'll try to post it here.

No hiding it now...

This is my 5week vs 9week photo. Mu tummy has definitely popped. I know I've done some growing this last week because I could really feel it. If I wear a snug shirt, you can really tell. With Anthony I didn't show until about 20 weeks and I looked like I do now. With Ephram, it was about 14 weeks.

8 Weeks

How your baby's growing:

"New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it."

OUR FIRST PRENATAL APPOINTMENT 1-14-08

Today was our first appointment. We did the usual questioning of medical and pregnancy history, exam and other (non)fun stuff. She was a little concerned about how soon some of my symptoms were showing up. By my period I was 6 weeks and 3 days. So she ordered an ultrasound. We got in there and saw one little baby with a fluttering little heart! I heard the heartbeat too and it was 132bpm! In range for it's age. AND, the baby measured 7weeks and 4days which means I ovulated earlier like I thought. So the new due date is August 28, 2008!

Symptoms at the moment, nausea, disgust of food, dark spots on my face, frequent urination, heart palpitations and extreme fatigue.

Our next appointment is February 12th. I'll be 12 weeks that week. My last week of the first trimester. And closer to me feeling the baby. I remember feeling Ephram at 14-15 weeks because I knew what I was feeling for. I think Anthony was at 16 weeks.

We have our 2 names picked out but we are keeping them a secret until the baby is born!

The Hubby's Thoughts

I'll be contributing here and there, so don't think I'm one of those non-involved men. I've even started reading "the books". Well today was Cassandra's 1st official doctors appointment which I was unfortunately unable to attend. They did an ultrasound and she got some pictures, which I'm sure she'll blog all about it and post the pictures.

I wish was able to go and hear my baby's heartbeat for the first time. I was really disappointed when she sent me a text saying she got to see him/her and hear the heartbeat. No worries though because it appears that we're further along, she's due NEXT WEEK. I keed, I keed. She's 7 weeks and 4 days, whoa! Closer to the 12 week mark, which as most of you know is the "out of the woods" milestone.

I can't wait to go on the next appointment so that maybe I get the chance to really see & hear my baby! Till next time, I'm out!

5 Weeks

Maybe a little further because I think I may have ovulated earlier. Wouldn't be more than 6 weeks. Anyways a picture of what it would look like right now and what's going on with it. Have had off and on SLIGHT nausea. Nothing bad. Never got sick with the boys. Very sleepy and bloated. No energy at all. First pre-natal appointment is January 14th. Ultrasound wont be for awhile so wont have an completely accurate date until then but it's not THAT much off if any at all.

Fetal development in pregnancy week 5
The changes to your growing embryo are not quite as drastic this week as they've been in the last few weeks. Growth is now largely focused on their little head, which is starting to develop much more rapidly than the rest of their tiny body. This is because their amazing brain is undergoing some very crucial and rapid development in order to effectively regulate their heart rate, blood circulation, and other vital functions. As for the rest of their miniature body, what were simple limb buds last week are limb flippers this week and the tail is more expressed. Amazingly, within a mere five weeks your little miracle is already developing the rudimentary forms of their liver, pancreas, lungs, stomach and nasal pits while their little heart is already increasing its circulation. Your baby is now a whopping 4-6mm in length.

Belly pics below from last week and this week. The difference is bloat, not baby. No possible way it can be baby as it's less than a half an inch long.
