Ultrasound and OB appontment 2/25/08

Everything went well. Baby is measuring 3". Was moving around somewhat. We got a DVD of the ultrasound too and a lot of pics. Baby's heartbeat was 161bpm. Dr appointment went fine. Have to limit my walking and may need physical therapy later on for my hips and tailbone if it gets worse. Taked about our risk for pre-term labor because of having both the boys early. They'll start watching me extra close starting my third trimester. We are officially in the second trimester now. 14 weeks on Thursday. Next appointment is 3/25/08 which is a normal appointment, I'll be 17w5d. Then at that appointment we'll be scheduling the gender u/s which will most likely be the end of April. Having plenty of normal cravings, headaches are back and cramping but it's due to the baby growing. Pics from the u/s below, we will have the video up sometime this week after it gets converted.

Daddy Thoughts: Whoa, my first baby appointment

It's finally here, well, not here but tomorrow. Been so busy with work, so it made it come a little quicker, for me that is. It still hasn't fully hit me, which the books say is normal, so I'm cool with that. Once I see it live & in living color on the monitor tomorrow, I hope I have a different feeling.

Things at work have been good, got a pay increase, started 401(k) and we're staying busy of course. Pulled in some freelance gigs too. One of the sites I'm working on is for our synagogue. Here's a temp. link to the site I'm building: www.mayhemandchaos.com/ibf/

Cassandra has had the oddest cravings; nothing like ice cream and anchovies, but more random normal stuff. The other day she want Pappasito's fajitas in the afternoon but then cringed at the thought them when I got home. The last coupe of days she's been hinting, oh so subtlety, that she wants (specifically) movie house nacho cheese. So, what did this loving and understanding husband do? I bitched. Then went to Kroger's for the concession-style nacho cheese she was craving.

So, back to tomorrow's not so little appointment. I'm very excited to see my baby up on the monitor. We've been listening to the little jelly bean every night on the Doppler, so that satiates me for now. I'll post some more after the appointment.

Baby's first things...

A few months back, someone posted a link to get a free swaddling blanket. They are really neat and make swaddling easier, even though its always been easy to me. It seemed neat and I can't pass up something free. So I ordered one and forgot about it. Well it came in the mail the other day! It's really cute! It was the first official thing for the baby. Today I picked up some diapers, wipes, a new bottle brush thats pretty neat, some pacifiers that I love and a package of newborn onesies! It was fun getting a couple new things for the baby. Makes it feel more real. I'm going to be buying diapers and wipes as I go to stock up on them. We'll slowly buy some of the big stuff and just store it in the garage for awhile. So exciting! Starting to feel the baby a bit more, still very light though. Still down 8lbs, belly hasn't changed, but feeling great except when I'm walking around too much, then my hips hurt. Other than that, everything is GREAT!! 3 more days until we see our little one again!

12 weeks!

12 weeks today. After this week we'll be in the 2nd trimester! Finally. Everything has been getting better except the pain in my tailbone. And my sinuses. Still a tad sleepy more than normal. I've lost 8lbs since my 5 weeks appointment. I've been holding steady at a 5lb loss but today I've lost 3 more. Took a new picture and my tummy is smaller. I can fit in my jeans again. 11 more days until our next ultrasound appointment. I've been having a girl feeling lately and I normally don't have a feeling of what it is. I listen to the heartbeat everyday, the baby sits up pretty high compared to where it "should" be. Heartbeat is a steady 170-176bpm. Still feeling a few flutters here and there but nothing consistent. Can't wait to feel steady movement.

Patiently waiting...

11 weeks today. Our appointment got bumped back because of conflicting surgeries that the office had scheduled. So now it is the 25th. We'll be 14weeks so there is a **possibility** we can tell what the gender is. It's a maybe depending on the baby and other things. If not, our gender scan will be probably 4 weeks later. So late March we will be finding out the gender if the baby cooperates. I don't really have feelings either way what it is. I thought I did but now I really don't know. I've had dreams of both but dreams aren't predictive for me. According to some of the old wives tales and predictors, they all say girl except a couple but I don't believe in those or superstitions so we'll have about a month and a half at the most to find out. Not really that long. Symptoms are pretty much gone for the most part except headaches and a lot of pain in my hips and tailbone. I didn't have that pain with the boys until late. I broke my tailbone later on after having Ephram so I'm thinking it didn't heal properly and I'm having issues now as my bones are spreading. Other than that I feel pretty good. Been feeling a lot of growing pains so I know the baby is growing in there. Can't wait until the 25th to see him/her!
